Of course, over the years Houston has
had its share of venues specializing in dance music such as Hyperia, the still going strong Rich’s and the legendary
Club Some. And just like those venues, FWD doesn’t care about your labels or which car you arrived in. The night belongs
to the music and it’s a twosome you don’t want to mess with!
“It’s
all about providing music that you don’t hear anywhere else,” said co-owner Javier Reyna. “We want Houston
to move forward with music, and that’s we’re all about.”
And
it’s true. You won’t find DJs spinnin’ your favorite radio tracks at FWD. It’s all about innovation
at FWD. Whether its drum-and-bass, gay house or techno, the goal at FWD is to take Houston’s music and nightlife scene
to the next level. From Dave Pezzner to Jake Child, the resident and guest DJs at FWD are hand-picked because of their talent
behind the decks and their knowledge of what’s next in music.
But their attention
to music doesn’t mean that FWD doesn’t have style. As the revamped space previously known as Deco, FWD has been
renovated to handle international DJs, Jazz bands and wide-eyed patrons who attack the dance floor on any given night.
FWD is currently open Wednesday through Sunday. But if you go, plan on spending all night rockin’ on
the dance floor.
